🎶✨ Oscar Peterson Sung — A Tribute in Voice & Piano ✨🎶
Everyone knows Oscar Peterson as one of the world’s greatest jazz pianists — but not many are aware that he also gave us a beautiful body of vocal recordings.
In honour of OP's Centennial celebrations this year:
Tuesday, October 7 at 8:00 PM, vocalist Geneviève “Gigi” Marentette and pianist Michael Shand invite you to experience this rarely heard side of Oscar at Kensington Sound (170 Baldwin St.), in a cosy room with a gorgeous grand piano.
Created in 2017, the "OP Sung" program highlights Oscar’s vocal recordings from Romance: The Vocal Styling of Oscar Peterson and Soft Sands, Fiorello and some unreleased originals.
🎟️ Tickets: $37.50
Seating is limited — reserve early to experience this intimate concert in one of the city’s longest-running recording studios.
Come celebrate Oscar Peterson the singer — a side of his genius that deserves to be heard.
